Local people are invited to take a fascinating look into the history of the county at a Lincolnshire Local History Day, which will be hosted by the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside on 20 March.

The event will include talks by eminent local historians and archivists.

Co-organiser Dr Phillip Swan lectures in History at the university and has also edited the Journal of Regional and Local Studies for the past 10 years.

It will be a special day in which to hear about a variety of recent work from some of Lincolnshire’s local historians,” he said.

Dr Andrew Walker, also a lecturer in History, will chair the morning session, which will include talk on the Lincolnshire Motion Picture Film Archive and the Lincoln Cathedral Library.

Tickets for the event, which will be held in the Jackson Lecture Theatre, on the Lincoln campus from 10am to 5pm, will cost £7.50 and are available from David Start on 01529 461499.
