Research scientists and directors of international companies will debate the latest developments in fish processing at a three-day conference in Grimsby.

Organised by Prof Tony Taylor from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, the July conference will bring together experts from across the northern hemisphere to review the role of science and technology in fish processing, and consider how they could be used in the new millennium.

Among the issues to be debated by experts from Canada, Iceland and the Netherlands will be market access, quality and the safety of fish and its products.

Prof Taylor will be joined by Dr John Grigor and Tony Garthwaite from the university’s Food Research Centre who will also address the conference on current issues.

The event is being organised jointly by the university, North East Lincolnshire Council and the Society of Chemical Industry. During their visit delegates will have the chance to visit the university’s food processing and science laboratories.
