Celebrity photographer Mike Maloney will pay a visit to the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside this weekend to capture on film a student with an unusual double life.

Fire-breathing cabaret performer Lynn Train is juggling her Applied Social Science dissertation with regular gigs as the Dragon Lady.

Together with plate-spinning partner Peter Brown the Dragon Lady performs at private functions and charity events - last weekend they were on the bill at the Mayor of Lincoln’s Charity Gala.

Lynn, who lives in Welton near Lincoln and studies at the university’s Humberside campus, will feature in a Sunday People article about her double life as student and firebreather. Lincoln man Mike, a former chief photographer at the Daily Mirror, is well known for his shots of the rich and famous not always in the most flattering poses.

“I joined Peter’s act in September last year and I’m really enjoying myself,” said Lynn, a former computer operator. “It was quite easy to pick up, but I chose to wear evening dress rather than a sparkly costume! We do one major gig every couple of weeks so it doesn’t interfere with my studies at the university - and I’ve never burnt myself.”

Now she’s conquered the fire-breathing Lynn plans to develop the act further. “I’d love to be a clown,” she admits. “Peter does plate-spinning, juggling and a clown act. I can’t juggle and people are always telling me I’m a clown so it seems like a good idea!”
