Barmy Ben Farrow will be ‘gunged’ live on the BBC this Friday after raising hundreds of pounds for Comic Relief in just two weeks.

The 19-year-old student from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside was one of the first 1,000 people to contact the BBC on-line to gain his place at the Birmingham NEC, where he will be gunged with 999 other crazy fundraisers.

Broadcast as part of the Comic Relief night, the gunge spectacular will go out live on BBC1 between 7pm and 8pm.

Ben, from East Bouldon, near Sunderland, is delighted to be involved. “I’m really looking forward to it,” he said. “I’ve always enjoyed fundraising for charity, but this gives me the opportunity not only to give money to Comic Relief but also to go on television. It’s brilliant!”
