BARMY BEN TO BATHE IN BILGE FOR BATTY BONANZA

A ‘gungeing’ live on television is on store for barmy Ben Farrow, a student from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, if he raises £1,000 in sponsorship for Comic Relief.

Ben, aged 19, has been a keen fundraiser for years and has helped out the charity and other good causes on previous occasions with raffles and events.

But this time, if Ben can raise the £1,000 and be one of the first 1,000 to contact the BBC on-line with the good news, he will get covered in gunk and goo live on Red Nose Night on 12 March.

“I’ve already raised £100 in three days, but I desperately need more people to sponsor me,” said Ben, who is from East Bouldon, near Sunderland. “I’ve always enjoyed raising money like this for charities and this is my chance to make a real difference.”

Up in East Bouldon Ben’s parents are busy getting support for their son, but the deadline is tight - he needs the promise of £1,000 by 5 March.

To sponsor Ben phone 07887 916 041.
