If Carol Smillie and her ‘Changing Rooms’ team have filled you with enthusiasm for interiors and DIY, why not find out more about the subject by attending an evening class run by the Hull School of Architecture?

‘Interior Design’ and ‘Self-Build’ are just two of the courses run at the school in George Street, Hull, part of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

The ‘Self-Build’ course will draw on the expertise of local authority planning experts, financial advisors and building firms in a bid to teach students the ins and outs of designing and building a house from scratch.

Meanwhile the ‘Interior Design’ class will go beyond the TV glamour to teach participants the fundamentals about interiors. “You’ve seen it on television - now find out how you can make spaces and create nice environments,” commented senior architecture lecturer George Clark.

Both courses run once a week for ten weeks from 6.30pm until 8pm at the School of Architecture. ‘Self-Build’ begins on 7th April, while ‘Interior Design’ begins on 8th April.
