Celebrities will be among the speakers in a guest lecture series at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

Organised by the Department of Media Production, the lectures will give students on all courses the opportunity to gain an insight into the real world of the media.

Lincs FM’s director of programming Jane Hill will be the first speaker on 10 February at the Lincoln campus.

But a few well-known names have not yet been revealed, including that of a British film director whose 1997 movie was a hit in this country and the United States.

Senior lecturer Brian Rudd said the one-hour lectures would be of interest not only to media students, but to all the university’s students.

“The series brings in people from the outside who have a different approach and are actually a part of the industry,” said Mr Rudd. “Students have the chance to ask questions which will help with their future career direction, and will be able to find out what opportunities exist for them.”

Details of star speakers will be announced as they are confirmed. The lectures take place each Wednesday for 10 weeks from 10 February at the Cargill Lecture Theatre from 3pm.
