First Class Award for University

A ‘first class’ publication promoting the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside is set to win a prestigious national award.

The Higher Education Information Services Trust (HEIST) has nominated the autumn edition of First Class News, designed by Riley Advertising (Lopex Communications), for a gold or merit award in its higher education leaflet category.

And the photography in the 1999 Lincoln campus undergraduate prospectus, taken by city photographer Andrew Weekes, received a special mention in the awards line-up.

Text for the leaflet was written by the university’s marketing team. A spokesman said: “We see the award as vindicating the considerable energy expended by all our academic and support staff in recent years. Without the efforts and vision of the university as a whole, there wouldn’t have been any first class news to report or any award.”

University Advertising Manager Cathy Twigg will attend the awards ceremony at the Botanical Gardens, Birmingham on 25 February.

The glossy four-page leaflet features the university’s blue and green colours with photography which combines the traditional buildings at the Hull campus with the modernity of Lincoln.
