A £300 cheque was the reward for all the hard work Louisa Blakeston has put into her Management Accounting course at the Hull Business School.

Louisa, a third-year BA student at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, was named the best Management Accounting Student in the school in 1998 - and to mark her achievement she was awarded a prize given jointly by the Chartered Institute of Management accountants and Hull firm Jacksonís.

Louisa, of Chanterlands Avenue, Hull, travelled to Samsung Electronics in Billingham, where she joined prizewinners from other northern universities. She is pictured receiving her leather-bound certificate from Peter Layhe MBE, president of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
