EMMTEC building

The Lincoln Social Computing (LiSC) Research Centre was set up in 2006. We are located on 1st floor of the EMMTEC building on the University of Lincoln’s £100million+ Brayford Pool campus. The Centre is focused on how society and individuals interact with technology and the impact such interactions have. We are a mix of academic and research staff and PhD students from a variety of backgrounds including engineering & robotics, behavioural, cognitive and developmental psychology, human computer interaction, games design and computer science.

Our main research areas include:

  • Social computing and online social networks
  • Social, pervasive and mobile gaming
  • Serious, educational and persuasive games
  • Social robotics and human-robot interaction
  • Human Computer Interaction & special populations

Our recent grant income exceeds £0.5million from sources such as the EU Framework and Lifelong Learning (Leonardo) programmes, Microsoft Research, SPARC and EPSRC.
