What makes us special?
Lincoln School of Media

TV Studio

Creative innovation, technical expertise and industry engagement in film-making, TV studio production, audio and radio, digital photography, animation, screenwriting and print and screen-based design for media are brought together through our range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in media production.

Critical, analytical and historical study of all media forms complements and enriches the practical production work.

The impact of new technologies and their convergence in the international arena is a key area for exploration, debate and experimentation in our practical and critical modules.

The BBC Partnership is an industry validation which benefits all our students through placement and workshop opportunities within the BBC around the UK. We’re closely involved with the BBC’s move to MediaCityUK in Salford Quays, Greater Manchester in 2011, where hundreds of new jobs will become available through a new BBC North jobs website: www.bbc.co.uk/jobs/north

Our industry programme of prestigious guest speakers includes visitors from Channel 4, the BBC (Radio and TV), ITV and Sky, as well as a host of independent broadcasters and creative practitioners, including from our own body of successful graduates.

Success at the Royal Television Society regional competition has been achieved in each of the four years from 2007-2010. In May 2010, our students won the National RTS Student Award for Entertainment. http://lismalumni.blogs.lincoln.ac.uk

Collaborative practical projects, work experience with and commissions for external businesses and organisations are on offer to all our students. Partners have included the NHS, Interflora, Lincolnshire Co-operative Society, Siemens, and Visit Lincolnshire.
