Edinburgh Festival 2010 - Lincoln Company posters
Blood Brothers - Dean and Pete with catapult

The Lincoln Company presented six new productions at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe:

Blood Brothers
by Willy Russell
'...the play really comes alive with the appearance of the brothers; their chemistry positively bubbles over and they handle the transition from childhood to adulthood superbly. The other strong principals all have their moments to shine.’
3 Weeks * * *

The Dumb Waiter
by Harold Pinter
‘After disappointing treatments of Pinter elsewhere in the city, it was a relief to see an excellent version of The Dumb Waiter by The Lincoln Company’.

Bonus Material,
a new comedy show (world premiere)

The Man Who Fell Out Of Bed
by Paul Sellar (world premiere)
‘We feel the unease of the central character, Mr Price, from almost the beginning thanks in no small part to the rest of the cast and most particularly to the very eerie smile of Joseph Murray who is his initial liaison. Paul Sellar has written a clean script and the cast works well together …Andy Jordan's direction is very tight’
British Theatre Guide * * * *

Shadow Boxing
by James Gaddas
‘HOW does Jonny Collis-Scurll do it?...Most people wouldn't be able to breathe after performing five minutes of this show….There's an intoxicating rhythm to the way he blends movement and dialogue, too, delivering every verbal punch in time to the beat of his swings.’
The Scotsman * * * *

Down The Rabbit Hole
by Alice Batchelar (world premiere)
'The cast come together like a fine tuned machine bringing to life characters with edge, darkness, and intrigue. Add the suspense to this mix and you have one of the finest and most creative re-workings on the Fringe 2010’.

About the Fringe

The Edinburgh Festival is the largest, most important and most famous Arts Festival in the world. The world’s media cover it. Hundreds of thousands of people attend it (usually circa one million people). And, YES the University of Lincoln students perform in it!

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe has become the equivalent to the Cannes Film Festival. It is the international theatre and performance marketplace to which every theatre promoter, booker, agent, producer, theatre manager goes to find its shows for the following year.

The Festival Fringe has for decades been a vital part of the UK theatre industry, offering the kind of training and learning opportunities on a scale and of a type not available anywhere else in the world. The instances of great individual creative talents, great works of art, and great money-making popular successes being discovered on the Edinburgh Fringe are no myth, they have happened, year on year, for the past 50 years!
