My work in video takes the form of a commentary on the connections between literature, visual art and the various histories of the moving image, with particular reference to modern European cinema and artists' film and video. One ongoing project uses appropriated footage to explore generic representations of space specific to film. These works investigate the ongoing dialogue between actual space and the techniques employed to delineate it, using cinematic conventions to explore the larger discursive frameworks that inform this exchange.
