AIMS

The aims of ALDinHE are:

  1. to be a forum for discussion and for the fostering of a community of practice in the field of Learning Development in Higher Education, primarily in the UK and Ireland
  2. to be a supportive network for the general professional development and representation of staff involved with Learning Development (LD), and those seeking to support students in making the most of their experience of higher education

The objectives of ALDinHE are:

  1. to facilitate discussion, exchange information, and hold meetings on the diverse activities related to learning development work in higher education, primarily in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
  2. to facilitate contacts between learning development professionals, services and associated bodies in universities internationally
  3. to identify, describe, analyse and promote 'good practice' in LD
  4. to promote relevant research into learning and teaching and into the student experience of higher education
  5. to support the development and implementation of new materials, resources and approaches in LD
  6. to participate in development of standards for professional training and development in LD, and in the development of appropriate quality assurance mechanisms for LD
