Information and Advice for Prospective Students from Myanmar

As one of the UK’s leading modern universities, students from more than 100 countries apply to the University of Lincoln each year for degree level studies.

To help you prepare, the following information provides guidance on the entrance requirements you will need to meet, alongside further information in support of your application.

Entry Requirements

Prospective students from Myanmar are required to meet the following University of Lincoln entrance requirements:

Foundation Entry

Undergraduate Entry

Prospective students require one of the following qualifications for entry into year one of an undergraduate degree:

-Successful completion of a recognised International Foundation Course

-Associate Degree/Diploma with minimum score of 65%

-Between 27 and 34 International Baccalaureate (IB) points depending on the course you wish to apply for. 

-A-levels at specific grades depending on the programme of interest.

Advanced Entry (Undergraduate)

Depending on your academic background and intended course of study, it may be possible to apply for advanced entry into year 2 or 3 of a University of Lincoln undergraduate course. For more information, please contact the International Admissions Team:

Postgraduate Entry


Entry requirements for our postgraduate (master degree) programmes vary by course. Prospective students from Myanmar require a 5 year Bachelor degree (awarded in a professional subject) with 65% = 2:2 or 75% = 2:1 (grade depending on programme applied for).   

Alternatively, prospective students with a Masters degree: 60% = 2:2 or 70% = 2:1 (grade depending on the programme applied for).

Successful completion of a Master’s Degree with a completed research proposal and application.

English Language Requirements

Prospective students require an IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each band score) or equivalent. Please note that some courses require a higher score.

If you do not meet the above English language requirements, you may be eligible for entry onto a Pre Sessional English and Academic Study Skills (PEASS) course.

Fees and Funding

Tuition Fees

University of Lincoln students are required to pay tuition fees for each year of their course. Further information regarding tuition fees, fee status and how to pay can be found here.


Each year, we are delighted to award a number of scholarships to academically gifted students from across Myanmar. Depending on your academic ability and intended programme of study, there are a range of scholarships which may be available.

For 2018/19, the following scholarships are available to suitably qualified students from Myanmar:

Undergraduate Scholarships

-£2,000 Undergraduate Scholarships available to students enrolling onto the first year of an undergraduate degree*

-£1,000 Scholarships available to students entering onto an undergraduate final year ‘top up’ programme (e.g. year 3 entry)*

Postgraduate Scholarships

-£2,000 Global Merit Scholarships available to students enrolling onto a postgraduate (taught or masters by research) programme with a minimum of 65% (or 2:2) (or equivalent)*.

*This is an automatic scholarship which will be awarded to you if you meet the requirements.
