Erasmus+ for Students

Erasmus

Broaden your Horizons with Erasmus+

The Erasmus+ programme enables students to study or carry out a work placement for between three and 12 months in one of 32 European countries as part of their degree course. Those studying at another European university are entitled to receive EU funding. Funding may also be available for work placements.

Students on a number of degree programmes at the University of Lincoln may have the opportunity to study as an outgoing Erasmus+ student at one of our many partner institutions across Europe, we also welcome applications from incoming Erasmus+ students via nomination from our partners.

Who Can Take Part?

Students from a wide range of subject areas can take part, subject to partnership agreements and selection criteria.

Studying abroad will involve foreign languages however, many courses are taught in English so you do not have to speak another language to take part. Of course, learning another language can be another skill you can add to your CV.  Incoming students must provide a Learning Agreement via their home institution’s Erasmus office. Application forms will be sent once a nomination has been received from the sending institution.

Get Involved

A comprehensive list of the opportunities available through the University’s Erasmus+ and Study Abroad programmes is available below. To find out more, talk to your subject coordinator or email erasmus@lincoln.ac.uk.

The best thing about the Erasmus exchange are the new people you get to meet and the new places you get to see. I made a lot of lifelong friends and we travelled frequently to the neighbouring cities and countries. I recommend the Erasmus exchange to everyone! It is so refreshing to have a change of scenery in the middle of your studies even if it’s for only one semester. The experience teaches you about new cultures as well as your own and about yourself, the opportunity to learn a new language is excellent in the ever-globalising world.

Matti Heiskanen - BA (Hons) International Business Management.

Having the opportunity to study on the Erasmus programme has been so incredible and amazing. It has been an experience that I have learned so much from and will never forget. One of the things that I have loved whilst being here is getting to experience and learn about Norway and its culture. I had never been to Norway before my exchange and I can say that I will definitely be coming back to visit and explore more as Oslo is such a lovely and interesting city.

Erasmus Opportunities for staff

The Erasmus+ programme offers staff, both academic and non-teaching, the opportunity to teach or train elsewhere in Europe for a period of between five days to six weeks. Not only can this give your career a boost, it also offers a chance to exchange expertise, develop international networks and discover new approaches to working practices. Staff training is an option for both academic and non-teaching staff. The programme supports activities such as job-shadowing, study visits or short secondments. Funding is available to teach in all subject areas. Find out what options are available on the British Council Erasmus website.
