Lincoln has been a centre of theological learning and excellence for many centuries. The Lincoln School of Theology maintains this tradition of theological study and continues to engage in the pursuit of excellence in the study of contextual theology.
The School is a partnership between the University of Lincoln, the Diocese of Lincoln, Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln, Lincoln Cathedral and the East Midlands Ministerial Training Course and is staffed by academics and teachers from those partner institutions.
It offers a flexible undergraduate programme for part time students. It is designed for:
- those who want to develop their understanding of Christian theology.
- those who want to deepen their Christian faith in support of their discipleship.
- those who want to train for ministry to support the life and work of their local church.
- those training for ordained and Reader ministry.
The School is developing a postgraduate programme:
- for those who want to work at an advanced level in pursuit of their own life-long learning and faith development.
- to support the professional development for those engaged in full time and part time ministry in the Church.
The School currently offers part time students the following awards:
- a ‘School of Ministry Award’ (36 credits level 1).
- a Certificate in Theology and Ministry Studies (120 credits level 1).
- a Diploma in Theology in Ministry Studies (120 credits level 2).
