Lincoln Students Shine at Outdoor Media

The Clear Channel Student Design Awards was once again an outstanding success for Graphic Design students from the University of Lincoln. The Awards recognise students who successfully transfer great creative ideas to the outdoor medium. Creative briefs are set by the competition sponsors; this year being Halifax and Sure. The entries are judged by both the sponsors and a panel of creative experts from the industry.

The the overall prize went to 3rd year student Steven Yates for his ‘Sure for Men’ campaign. The judges chose Steven’s campaign as both the Creative Judging winner and the overall Awards winner because “of its striking creative, which could create massive impact across all formats. A case of brand-building in the extreme, and a clear winner.”

Other University of Lincoln winners at the awards were:

  • Karen Booth, Ben Holman and Kim Marper (Creative Judging winner for the ‘Sure for Women’ campaign)
  • Stephen Gwilt, Rebecca Belsher (Creative Judging runner-up for the ‘Sure for Women’ campaign)
  • Jo Kirkpatrick, Alex Hislop and Lindsay Smith (Sponsor Judging winner for the ‘Sure for Men’ campaign)

Lincoln Students at the Forefront of Design

Four Graphic Design students from the School of Design at the University of Lincoln have been nationally recognised as the creative designers of tomorrow.

Robert Innes, Caroline Stanton, Matthew Farrugia and Dan Ransom each won a design project brief at the MPA Roses Student Creativity Awards. As winners, all four School of Design students have secured valuable work experience at the country’s top design agencies. The students will also go on to compete for a Bronze, Silver or Gold award which will be presented at the Roses Advertising Awards Gala Dinner in May. The winning work will also be published in Adline, the UK’s leading advertising industry magazine.

Professor Maxine Naylor, Head of Design at the University, is delighted with the students’ recent success. “Our students are consistently short listed for National Awards. This recent success really does show that students from the Lincoln School of Design, at the University of Lincoln, are creative and talented individuals who have a very bright future ahead of them.

Howard Smith Graphic Design & Print Awards

Formerly known as ‘The Consort Royal Graphic Design & Print Awards’, the Howard Smith Graphic Design & Print awards recognises the high ground in graphic communications.

The University of Lincoln are pleased to report that three Graphic Design students have been short listed for the prestigious awards.

Daniel Wells and Richard Blythe are both finalists for the ‘Black is White’ brief and Michelle Noel is finalist in the ‘Palindrome’ brief.
