Success Stories - BA (Hons) Fashion Studies
Fashion Star 2009
University of Lincoln Fashion student - Lauren Fedorko has been awarded £1,000 by Basilica Marketing Company representing the Waterside Shopping Centre, Lincoln after winning the Fashion Star 2009 competition. Six finalists were selected by Basilica Marketing Team to produce their designs, which were then displayed in the Waterside Shopping Centre from 6 November – 18 December. From over 1,000 votes, Waterside shoppers chose Lauren’s design as the winner of Fashion Star ’09.
Her stunning entry consisted of two pieces – a sleeveless dress with co-coordinating jacket. Both items were inspired by pirate’s clothing, with styled collars and oversized cuffs, complimented by rich-coloured wool and tweed.
Waterside Centre Manager, Jim Hughes, said: “We were bowled over by the standard of design and production submitted by all the finalists, but the quality of Lauren’s work was especially outstanding. We hope she’ll remember us when she’s internationally recognised, but for now we’re happy that she’s our Waterside Fashion Star ’09!”
Siobhan Noon – BA (Hons) Fashion Studies also received a high number of votes and will receive a brand new Sony Ericsson W760 Walkman phone.
