Introduction to Dog Grooming & Clipping

Dates: 2-5 July 2012

This is a four-day course (9.00-17:00), running at various times throughout the year, aimed at anyone who is interested in dog and cat grooming. The course will cover the basic skills of the groomer with demonstrations, practical sessions and lectures.

The course will cover:

  • Grooming equipment
  • First aid for groomers
  • Handling and restraint
  • Basic grooming techniques
  • Practical demonstrations & class practice in the various techniques
  • Breed types
  • Cat grooming
  • Peripheral services
  • Health & safety
  • How to start your own business.

A University of Lincoln Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to those who complete this course.

You will need to bring the following with you:

  • Writing materials
  • Camera & film
  • Tabard or overall.

Students taking this certificate can progress onto our Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants.

Accommodation is not available on campus but a list of hotels can be provided on request.
