Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants (Level 2 City and Guilds)
Candidates will gain practical knowledge that they will then be able to apply to the grooming of a range of dogs. Successful candidates often pursue careers in dog grooming
There are no formal entry requirements but a general knowledge of dogs would be an advantage. In addition, enthusiasm, commitment and a suitable level of literacy and numeracy is required in order to enable candidates to research the underpinning knowledge and complete the assessments.
The subjects studied will include the following:
- Grooming facilities / resources
- Health and safety
- Assessment of animal condition
- Coat types
- Grooming techniques.
The course is assessed through a combination of practical assessment and the development of an individual portfolio demonstrating your knowledge.
