Chainsaw Technical Update

This is a two day course designed for people who have held an NPTC CS30/31 Certificate of Competence for 3 years or more.  The courses are held at Riseholme Campus, or at an approved site.

The course will include the following aspects:

• Current legislation
• Risk assessment
• Maintenance
• Cross cutting techniques and safety standards
• Factors affecting choice of felling, direction-safety, tree form, climatic conditions, and identification of potential hazards.
• Felling techniques & safety standards
• Snedding techniques & safety standards
• Take down hung-up trees using hand tools.

You must already hold an NPTC CS30/31 (for 3 years or more) to be eligible for this course.

Accommodation is not available on campus but a list of hotels can be provided on request.

Please note that we reserve the right to charge full fees if you cancel your place on a course within two weeks prior to the course start date.
