Brush Cutting Operations

This one day course, followed by the NPTC Certificate of Competence in Brushcutting Operations, is designed for all personnel engaged in the use of brushcutters, trimmers and clearing saws.

The course and assessment meets the requirements of the H&SE, insurance companies and public liability.

The course will cover:

  • Safe use and maintenance of the power unit
  • Sharpening and setting of the cutting heads
  • Types of heads and adaptions
  • Practical use in the safe operation of trimmers, brushcutters and clearing saws.

The NPTC qualification will be endorsed for either a brushcutter, clearing saw or trimmer, depending on which section the candidate wishes to be assessed practically in.

You will need to provide the following:

  • Hard hat with visor
  • Ear protectors
  • Coverall, safety boots, gloves
  • Day glow vest
  • 1 passport photograph of yourself
  • Packed lunch, flask tea/coffee.

Please note that we reserve the right to charge you full fees if you cancel your place on the course within two weeks prior to the course start date.
