Postgraduate Student Support
The University offers a support community which endeavours to help you whatever your needs might be.
The Graduate School
As a postgraduate you will receive close academic support for your studies. Your nearest contacts are your academic mentors, who are always able to point you in the right direction. All postgraduate students are automatically admitted to the Graduate School. The School offers facilities, training programmes and a support network for postgraduate research students.
Your School or Department is professionally staffed and dedicated to meeting the needs of students, academics and the University. They offer advice and support on any matter.
The Students’ Union offers a range of services aimed at helping all postgraduates get the most out of their time at the University. The Union works closely with the University, resident associations and other local organisations to make sure you have the best postgraduate experience at Lincoln. It coordinates student activities, social events, sports teams and society activities and can provide you with support in academic and welfare issues.
Student Support can help with everything from disabilities to finding a doctor and accommodation issues, as well as administrative matters.
The Mature and Postgraduate Society – MAPS
The Mature and Postgraduate Society (MAPS) is a student-run initiative which aims to support the social side of studying at University by providing a community of friendly people you can meet outside your course. Regular social activities and events are held throughout the semester and, during holidays, there are also trips around Lincoln, Lincolnshire and the UK.

As a postgraduate student you will also be part of the Lincoln Graduate School and be able to take part in Research training.
