Level 3 and 4 Proficiency Qualification for the Food Industry

These qualifications are ideal for those who work in a supervisory position within the food manufacturing industry and wish to gain a nationally recognised qualification. Level 3 and 4 qualifications are aimed at people who supervise/manage a team or project. Learners will need to demonstrate competence around a wide range of complex and non routine activities. Whilst there are no entry requirements it is ideal for learners to have already completed a Level 2 NVQ or Proficiency qualification. Learners will need to be able to demonstrate competence through completing projects, undertaking direct observations and gathering evidence to build their portfolio.

Delivery is flexible and tailored to individual company requirements. Training can be delivered on site or at the Holbeach Campus and during the learners’ normal working hours/shift where possible. Learners build a portfolio of evidence during their qualification, which is theirs to keep, and can be a useful reference guide. Assessors will visit learners to carry out direct observations, to deliver underpinning knowledge and to assess work as appropriate.

This qualification will take approximately 12 to 18 months from induction to completion of the qualification.
To gain one of these qualifications, learners will be required to complete units all of which have credit values. The University of Lincoln have a variety of different qualifications to suite different food sectors and these will be discussed with companies prior to the induction process.
