Terms & Conditions

School of Mathematics and Physics, University of Lincoln - Physics Challenge 2014

  1. The promoter is: University of Lincoln, Brayford Pool, Lincoln LN6 7TS
  2. The competition is open to all young pre-university people in UK aged 16 - 18 years. It is not open to current university students.
  3. Closing date for entry is 24th of July 2015. After this date no further entries to the competition will be accepted.
  4. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  5. The prize for the one winner is as follows: A Sony Playstation 4 with one controller. (Please note: We have unboxed this prize to check contents, but the device is entirely unused. The promoter may offer, at its absolute discretion, additional prizes for runner-ups).
  6. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice at any time. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  7. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  8. No alternative to the prize will be offered. The prize is not transferable. The prize is subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  9. A winner and any possible runner-ups will be chosen by a panel of judges appointed by the University of Lincoln. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  10. The winner will be notified by email and/or letter not later than 30th of September 2015. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  11. The prize awarding ceremony will be organized at University of Lincoln (to be confirmed).
  12. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  13. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  14. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  15. By accepting the prizes, the winner and runner-ups agree to the use of their names and images in any publicity material associated with the competition. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation.
  16. The winner’s name will be available after 30th of September by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the following address: Communications, Development and Marketing Department, University of Lincoln, Brayford Pool, Lincoln LN6 7TS.
