Riseholme Park


The countryside around Lincoln rolls out to one of the largest agricultural regions in the country. Riseholme, previously the Bishop of Lincoln's palace and now the University's country seat, is just a few minutes away by car or bus from the city centre.





About Riseholme
Riseholme Park is home to the University's agriculture, animal-related and biological science courses. Over 1000 acres of land are farmed at this campus and in the nearby village of Nettleham. The Riseholme Estate has more than 20 hectares of mixed woodlands, and extensive water features.
Farming activities on the 240 hectare estate focus on dairy and grassland, with the arable enterprises being grown on 200 hectare Lodge Farm. The campus is home to a modern, purpose-built Rural Science Centre which houses the animal care unit and equine facilities.

There is limited accommodation available at Risholme Park
Car parking
Student car parks are provided at Riseholme. For security reasons, a permit is required and can be applied for following enrolment.
Student Health Service
There are nurses at Riseholme Park from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 11 am. The nurse treats minor ailments, makes appointments and arranges transport for students to see a doctor. The nurse provides students with information and advice on contraception and other health and welfare services. Students register with a local GP during the first week. Student Services at the City Campus provide lists of local doctors, dentists and opticians other services.
Student Counselling and Welfare Service
Student Services provide information and advice on issues and problems including funding, local amenities and finances. The counselling service offers time and space to discuss personal or course- related issues that are affecting students' lives.
Chaplaincy
The chaplaincy supports students in all aspects of everyday life. People from all faiths and denominations are welcome. Hospital and home visits are available in cases of illness family problems.
Career Advisory Services
The Careers Service provides information, advice and practical help. There is a careers information section in each of the libraries on the two main campuses. Appointments are made via Student Services for individual guidance interviews and support.
Student Learning Resources
This free and confidential service is available to all students.
Learning support means help with any aspect of learning - in the
workplace, or on campus.
We provide support to improve writing, reading and numeracy skills, information technology and dyslexia. With the introduction of Key Skills, learning resources can play an important role and a dedicated resource rooms have been introduced at Riseholme. More information is available to students during Induction Week.
Library Services
The Riseholme library contains most of the course books students need and a wide range of periodicals. There is a non-fiction section and foreign-language tapes and books. Daily newspapers are held in the Library and videos, both general and course-related, are available.
