Logo Use
Please read this before using the logo, downloads can be found at the foot of this page
The University of Lincoln logo is copyrighted to the University and can only be used with the our permission. Minerva’s head and the text beneath it should never be separated.
It is important that you use the University logo correctly and consistently across all materials, in accordance with these guidelines. When working with the logo you should only use original digital graphic files, which can be downloaded below/from the University’s website. Never redraw the logo, change it in any way or attempt to create it yourself.
No other logos from within the University are to be used. The University has one logo and one identity and it is important we do not confuse the message by attaching others to it.
Logo colour
Minerva’s head should appear wherever possible in University green
(Pantone 398) with black lettering. For use on internal documents the
head and lettering may appear in black.
The logo may be used in reverse (white on a coloured and preferably
solid background).

Another version (not shown here) is for the head and lettering to be foil blocked in silver. This version is for use in prestige publications such as the graduation brochure.
Logo size and positioning
The logo should only appear once on a single sheet as duplication can dilute its strength and impact. It should not be used any smaller than 25mm in width.
On publications such as information sheets, leaflets, posters and newsletters, the logo should be used on the top right-hand corner of the page. If this is not possible, the bottom right-hand corner may be used instead.
The logo appears on the top left hand side of our website, in keeping with web conventions.
The ‘exclusion zone’ is the clear area that surrounds the University’s logo. To ensure that the logo remains clear and has impact, nothing should ever appear inside the exclusion zone. It should measure one and a half times the width of the logo.
If the logo is positioned on a background image, this can be considered clear space as long as it does not impair the visibility or legibility of the logo.
Letterheads
On letterheads and compliment slips etc, the University’s logo should
appear on the top right-hand corner of the page. The departmental
address should appear along the bottom of the page.
Advertisements
The style for staff recruitment and programme adverts will be applied automatically by the HR and Marketing Departments. The logo should be used no smaller than 20mm in width.
Faculties and Departments
Individual faculties, departments and schools must not create their own logo as this will dilute the University’s brand.
On printed publications, the name of the faculty or department should appear to the right of the University logo and be written in Goudy Modern font. The bottom line of the name should be level with the bottom line of the logo. For example:

Each faculty may use one other colour for its information sheets, brochures etc, alongside the University green.
The University’s colour palette is currently under review. For further information, please contact Acting Head of Communications Thirzah Wildman on 01522 886106.
