Laser Materials Processing

Investigators:

Excimer TrenchThe Systems Research Group at Lincoln has vast knowledge in the application of lasers for materials processing. They have experience working with many materials ranging from polymers to metals to ceramics.

CO2 processedThey are able to work confidently with a number of laser types ranging from CO2 lasers, excimer lasers and high power diode lasers. Furthermore they have both experience and knowledge in focussing optics for different laser setups. This is of great benefit as it is widely known throughout the laser community that manipulating optical setups can allow one laser to carry out a number of tasks.

‌The SRG have experience in using different laser types to carry out processing such as:

  • Micro-machining
  • Drilling
  • Cutting
  • Welding
  • Peening
  • Trepanning
