Public Relations is the key communication tool of successful organisations and individuals, and is crucial to effective leadership. It integrates and complements the full range of communications disciplines including marketing and advertising. At Lincoln, PR is taught by academics with a wealth of experience in the Public Relations sector. Their teaching is informed by their professional experience and the cutting-edge research they carry out. Throughout their studies our students have opportunities to experience real PR work by participating in the many live projects generated by Cygnet PR, the student-run agency, including recently working with the Bomber Command Memorial Team.
Work placements are an important part of the undergraduate programmes and at the end of the second year students are encouraged to take either a three-month or year-long professional practice placement. This enhances their employability as demonstrated by the high number of our students who secure real PR jobs straight after completing their course - often before they even graduate.
