Aims

This course aims to prepare FACTS Qualified Advisers (FQAs) for their annual on-line assessment.

Content

Using RB209 to calculate the nutrient contribution from organic manures and obtain fertiliser recommendations for field crops and grassland, with a particular focus on:

  • The increasing need for sulphur applications and calculating sulphur contribution from organic manures.
  • Nutrient contribution from anaerobic digestate.
  • Yield adjustment for cereal nitrogen recommendations.
  • The new structure for grassland recommendations
  • Recommendations for whole-crop cereals.

Delivery

The course is delivered over one day, using participatory lectures and case study work.

Assessment

Following the course and to retain FQA status, all students are required to take an on-line assessment.
