The Great Central Warehouse Library
Following a £5 million restoration, the University Library has been transformed from an old railway warehouse into a magnificent state-of-the-art learning resource.
The Library provides a wide range of Library services and facilities, as well as support and guidance to students on the use of information services and study skills. We have an excellent student-to-computer ratio and WiFi access across campus.
The Engine Shed
The Engine Shed is the region’s largest live music venue housed in a stunning renovated engine shed. Events range from performances from national and international bands to weekly student parties, club nights and events. Previous acts have included Kings of Leon, Pixie Lott, Stereophonics, Dizzee Rascal and Ellie Goulding.

The Tower Bars
The Tower Bars, next to the Engine Shed, stand as the focal meeting point for students on campus, providing a comfortable and relaxed environment. The Bars host a variety of events from the Big Student Quiz to live sport screenings.
Students’ Union
While the University looks after your academic welfare and study, the Students’ Union (SU) covers all social aspects of student life. The main SU office is based alongside the Engine Shed and Tower Bars.
The SU offers a range of services which aim to help you get the most out of your time at the University, their biggest function being to provide opportunities for students to be able to represent themselves and to take part in sports and societies.
Lincoln Performing Arts Centre
The Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC) is an innovative performance venue with a state-of-the-art learning environment for the Lincoln School of Performing Arts.
LPAC boasts a 450-seat theatre and regularly holds high-profile live performances, including a wide variety of theatre, dance, stand-up comedy and music. Past performances have included Alan Carr, Lee Evans and BBC Radio 4’s Just A Minute.
The Student Village Accommodation
Lincoln Courts is our stunning waterfront accommodation complex, situated on-campus and in the heart of the Student Village, a five-minute walk from the city. The complex is made up of 17 contemporary buildings of self-catered apartments. Bills include heating and electricity as well as free University internet access.
Careers and Employability Service

The building houses our Careers and Employability Service, which offers a dedicated team of qualified advisors who are available to provide you with the support and information you need when considering your future. There is also our incubation unit, Sparkhouse Studios, for those who are considering starting their own business.
Sports and Recreation Centre
The University’s Sports and Recreation Centre boasts a large selection of modern, specialist facilities. These include a double sports hall, squash, badminton and tennis courts, football and outdoor pitches, a dance studio and saunas.
The site is home to the Human Performance Centre which provides a Regional Centre of Excellence in sport, coaching and exercise science and offers excellent facilities to meet the academic needs of those studying in this area.
Media, Humanities & Technology
The Media, Humanities and Technology building is fully equipped to industry standards with media suites providing the latest broadcast television, radio and sound equipment, as well as television and photographic studios and radio editing suites. Siren FM, our on-campus community radio station, is based here.
Business & Law Building
The David Chiddick Building, home to the University’s Business and Law students, opened in 2011 and has large lecture theatres, a mock court and innovative ‘learning lounges’.
The Architecture Building
Designed by world-renowned architect Rick Mather, this award-winning £10 million building is a purpose-built centre for the University’s Architecture courses. It has its own café and seating area set within a 3-D design environment.
The Science Centre
This high-tech building contains state-of-the-art laboratories and specialist equipment. The facilities within the Science Centre have been successfully used by Police Forces to help with investigations and secure convictions.
The Engineering Hub
The purpose-built Engineering Hub which opened in 2011 is the first of its kind in the UK for more than 20 years and is the home to the Lincoln School of Engineering. The School works in collaboration with leading global engineering company, Siemens, and is based in a state-of-the-art £37 million development.
East Midlands Media, Technology & Enterprise Centre (EMMTEC)
EMMTEC provides Lincolnshire with a dedicated conference facility with auditorium; an IT centre of excellence and a research and development space.
