Q: I would rather view the accommodation available to me before I sign a
contract. Do you have any temporary accommodation?
A: There are many guest houses available in Lincoln. Many of our
international students choose to book into a guest house for two to three days
when they arrive at the University. We have an expert team of advisers which
will help you to arrange viewings of different types of accommodation available
and advise you of the most suitable accommodation to your needs.

Q: How do I get to the University? Will accommodation be open when I get here?
A: We offer a free airport pick-up service in September from London Heathrow
and London Stansted. If you are making your own way to the University, we offer
a meet and greet service, where one of our current international students will
meet you and take you to your accommodation.
You can arrange collection or a meet on our international pages.
We recommend that you try to arrange you arrival within University office hours
of 08.00 and 17.00 but we understand that this is not always possible please
contact the accommodation office and advise them of you arrival.
Q: Can I choose who to live with?
A: We understand that some people may want to live in same sex apartments or
people of a similar background. Wherever possible, this will be taken into
account and necessary arrangements made to fit your requirements.
Q: Is accommodation available to Postgraduate students?
A: Accommodation is available for some postgraduate students, you should
contact the accommodation office for the allocation placement.
Q: What happens if I do not like my accommodation?
A: We try to place all students in suitable accommodation but understand that
it can be difficult living with new people and it takes time to adjust. If you
are having problems please contact the Student Support Centre or the
Accommodation Service where they will try to assist in resolving them.
Q: Can I have visitors to stay with me in my accommodation?
A: All resident students are responsible for their own guests, in respect of
security, disturbance and damage. The Licence Agreement signed by resident
student is clear on this matter and any comment or complaint about visitors will
be dealt with by residential management staff under University Regulations.
If you require accommodation for couples or families please contact the
accommodation office and we will advise you of all accommodation options
available to you.
Q: What insurance is required?
A: All University Halls of Residence have contents insurance of £4,000.00
included in the Residence Fees. Further details of this scheme will be provided
on your arrival at Halls and will include the facility to increase the amount of
cover if you consider the sum insufficient to cover your possessions.
Q: What do I need to bring with me?
A: You will need to have your own bedding in most accommodation. If you
contact your accommodation before you arrive they will let you know if they
provide bedding or if you can hire it. They will also let you know of other
items you may require such as crockery and cutlery. Many of these items can be
bought at a fairly low cost from local stores.
