A Thriving Research Environment

Welcome to the Lincoln School of Architecture and the Built Environment

I am pleased to welcome you to the Lincoln School of Architecture and the Built Environment. Here we have a passionate commitment to our students, graduates, their employers, the professional bodies that validate our programmes, and our network of business partners.

By joining us you can benefit from all the resources and opportunities available to you as a University of Lincoln student, as well as from the links that our School has with local architectural practices and key organisations in the construction industry.

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Architecture and Construction Science and Management. All our programmes are designed to equip students with the understanding and skills they will need to operate effectively within a globalised, innovation-driven economy. Course content is informed by current trends and developments in architectural practice and the construction sector, utilising industry-standard equipment and technologies.

The identity of the Lincoln School of Architecture and the Built Environment rests on the necessity to design and build tomorrow’s buildings and cities that are socially, economically and environmentally sustainable. Courses and projects therefore address design and construction challenges in both national and international contexts.

This ethos is further shaped by an integrated approach to the teaching of Architecture, and Construction Science and Management. We regard these as two allied disciplines that, seen together under one roof, provide a platform for the cross-fertilisation of ideas in the classroom and studio, and the creation of tomorrow’s built environments.

Our ambition is to educate students to the highest professional standards and to nurture confident graduates who will make a positive difference in the world. I look forward to meeting you at one of our Open Days where you can gain first-hand experience of our facilities and engage with our highly qualified, passionate staff.
