Lizanne Byrne is completing a part time MSc in Bird
Conservation Biology, under the supervision of Prof. Stephen
Hall. She is focusing on enrichment of captive birds in
aviaries and zoos. Lizanne is interested in how enrichment
can improve bird welfare and how its application within zoos
can be increased and improved. She has presented her
research at BIAZA conferences to raise awareness of the
benefits of enrichment and share practical tools to
encourage its application within zoos. (BIAZA is the British
and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums).Research Interests
