Bethan gained her BSc(Hons) in Animal Science(behavioural studies) from DeMontfort University in 2002.  She is now in the third year of a part-time MPhil in animal behaviour and welfare in which she has been studying the effect of stereotypic behaviour on learning in horses.  She hopes to be able to go on and study for a PhD, expanding on the work she has already completed.

She has also assisted the department by providing lecturing support to third year animal behaviour and welfare students studying Environment and Containment Design.

The effect of stereotypic behaviour on learning in horses.
The use of positive reinforcement in the training of companion animals.
Welfare orientated housing and management systems for domesticated species.
Equine learning and training techniques.
