Andy
Dell is completing a part time MPhil in Equine
Conservation Biology, under the supervision of Dr
Mark Curry and Prof. Stephen Hall. He is focusing
on genetic analysis and breed management of the
Cleveland Bay horse. Andy is a member of the Breed
Committee of the Cleveland Bay Horse Society and
has been instrumental in the global implementation
of the Society's successful "SPARKS" breed
management programme. He has been a contributor to
each of the Cleveland Bay Horse Society Breed
Conferences in the UK and in North America,
raising awareness of the importance of protecting
genetic variation within the breed and presenting
practical solutions for breeders to do this.

Post Graduate Certificate in Education ( Distinction) - University of Wales 1978
Andy retired from his position as Deputy Head at a Local Education Authority Outdoor Education Centre in the Lake District in 2000, and lives in South Cumbria.
As well as being actively involved as a Council Member of The Cleveland Bay Horse Society, he is Team Leader of Kendal Mountain Rescue Team and also a Royal Yachting Association Ocean Yachtmaster.
