Within the mental health work-stream are a number of substantive programmes that include:

• National implementation and evaluation of the 10 Essential Shared Capabilities for Mental Health
• Education audit of CAMHS training programmes across England
• Development of CAMHS modules for Primary Care workers across England
• Health and Criminal Justice
  • Prison Health Rotational Posts Project
  • Prison Placement Project
  • Development of Dual Diagnosis training materials
• Primary Care Mental Health
  • The development of book prescription services
  • The development of distance learning teaching materials
• Violence, Abuse and Mental Health
  • Systematic review of the effects of extreme pornography

The mental health team are also linked, through a series of secondment arrangements, to the National Institute for Mental Health (England) (NIMHE) National Workforce Programme where they support the national work on Workforce Planning, New Ways of Working, New Roles, Education and Training and Recruitment and Retention.
