The
University of Lincoln has benefitted from a 628% boost in public
research funding to £10 million, and in the last few years has
recruited over sixty professors and research staff with
significant international reputations in a wide range of
disciplines.
With 19 research centres and access to networks through the University world, we are confident we can find solutions to problems in a wide range of areas. We work with a wide range of organisations, from small and medium sized businesses through to large PLCs, public sector bodies, Government and multinationals. Bespoke contracts can be devised to cater for most issues of commercial sensitivity or intellectual property. |
Centre for Vision and Robotics ResearchLincoln’s Centre for Vision and Robotics Research specialises in two complementary areas: the analysis and understanding of image, video and sensor data; plus sensing and control for autonomous robotic systems. The Vision Group specialises in a number of areas, including security surveillance, collision detection systems for vehicles, food technology, medical screening and the care of the elderly, working closely with industrial partners on the development of novel hardware neural network systems. The Robotics Group specialises in enabling technologies for robots that live with people. Current research centres on spatial navigation, robotic vision and sensing and social robotics, including human-robot relations and parallels in the animal kingdom. Collaborators include:
