CORU and the 2012 Olympics

The Faculty is celebrating the award of the London 2012 Olympic Inspire Mark to the "Take Part Lincolnshire, Sports Volunteer Leadership" programme which is the responsibility of the Lincoln Business School's Community Operational Research Unit (CORU) and which will be expected to contribute to the lasting legacy of the London Olympics by championing the vital role played by volunteers in running amateur sports clubs and events.

CORU specialises in projects aimed at enhancing leadership and management skills in the voluntary sector and community groups and has received funding from the Economic and Social Research Council to lead a nationally Capacity Building Cluster involving two other universities. Its sports volunteer leadership project is the first Voluntary Inspire Mark Project in Lincolnshire, and the award has been made by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games.
