Summer Schools 2012
Rethinking Architecture 4th - 14th July
The Rethinking Architecture Summer
School is
based on issues of urban design, architecture and
sustainability in the context of globalisation. The
programme includes lectures, seminars and design
workshops led by academics, practicing architects
and professionals from the built environment. This
summer school not only promises an excellent
learning experience for the students but also
provides a unique cultural experience as you will be
living in one of the world’s great small cities.

Architecture in a Changing Environment 8th - 22nd July
The Summer School
for Architecture in a Changing Environment will
provide a challenging 10-day mix of lectures,
seminars, field trips, and studio projects. There
will be an emphasis on the global sustainable
agenda, renewable energy, urban regeneration,
learning by doing and practical problem solving with
access to the School’s workshop, library and other
University facilities.

Historic Buildings & Conservation 8th - 22nd July
The Summer School
for Historic Buildings & Conservation will provide
an opportunity to work with a leading centre for
conservation education and research that regularly
work on some of Britain’s most iconic historic
buildings. The summer school will provide an
engaging mix of field trips, lectures, guest
speakers and hands on projects with access to the
School’s laboratories.
