Researchers include:

C. Puzzovio’s award-winning and AHRC funded project on designing typefaces for the Armenian alphabet, which increasingly forms the subject of peer reviewed journal articles, conference papers and exhibitions.

Research Fellow, T. Donaldson’s innovative graphic work, which has been subject to several international awards including the Brno Biennale and the Morisawa International Prize 2002 and commissions Wollf-Olins, Adobe Systems USA and Meta Design Berlin.

P. Middleton and P. Eastwood’s papers for the Princeton Architectural Press USA and the American Institute of Graphic Arts, together with research project undertaken into the impact made on public perceptions and visual awareness by the ‘short life design’ generated by the nature of television news programmes. Paul Middleton has recently been awarded a AHRC grant (£19,500) for the 'Short Life Design' project in conjunction with Central Television.

G. Lingwood’s brand and identity research undertaken for clients such as London Underground, The British Film Institute, Toyota, Ministry of Defence, etc. and the ongoing HIRF funded commercialization of an innovative software title for visual communicators.

 J. Stocker's work explores, through the production of visual and sound work, the liminal spaces to be found between public and personal visualisations.

B. Tullet and P. Wood manage the Caseroom Press, an independent publishers. Their books include 'The Season Sweetens', 'FlatPack', 'Feathers & Lime', 'The Fireplace Book' and 'Shiny Little House' (to be published by Zed Said) as well as 'All Points North' (a co-publication with The Scottish Poetry Library). It has recently been announced that three books by the Caseroom Press have been short-listed for the British Book Design and Production Awards 2007: 'FlatPack' (for the Limited Edition and Fine Binding category), 'Feathers & Lime' (for the Literature category) and '07: Hope, Detail, Control' (Best Student Book category). 'FlatPack' has also been shortlisted for The Cream Awards 2007 (Best Use of Typography). Their books and magazines have been reviewed in The Scotsman, The Guardian and The Times as well as in MAP and Eye magazines.

We are pleased to announce that The Caseroom Press picked up three Bronzes at the Cream Awards 2008. The Ghost in the Fog picked up two prizes; it was awarded Bronze in both the Publications and Typography sections. The Case magazine also picked up a Bronze in the Publications section.

C. Dunne complementary art publishing activities of at the Beehive Press. P. Eastwood and C. McCarthy have also contributed to the publishing activities of the Beehive Press and produced. The Faculty intends to consolidate and further develop its publishing capacity to include the publication of limited edition,1-of and artist book production.
