CCDP

The interdisciplinary Centre for Critical Design Practice draws on the complementary strengths of it's research groups.

The Language as Visual Form group, which focuses on new forms and contexts of communication and consolidates notable faculty strengths in typography, graphic design and brand identity

The Innovative Design Practice group, which challenges perceptions and current paradigms in its exploration of critical concepts and experimental, processes and technological development within design, drawing on current strengths in product, furniture and textile design. There are currently 2 Professors, I Visiting Professor, 2 Research Fellows and 17 staff associated with the remit of this centre, together with 4 research students. Within the assessment period individual researchers have been awarded commissions in excess of £700K.
