Welcome

The University of Lincoln is delighted to have been designated as a 2012 Olympic training camp for equestrian sports.

The outstanding facilities at the University’s Equestrian Centre, located at the beautiful Riseholme Campus, are to be used to train the region’s elite UK athletes in the build up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games of London 2012.

Riseholme Campus

To celebrate its involvement in the build up to London 2012 Games, the University was awarded an Olympic flag, “There is no greater honour than to be associated with 2012,” said the University's Director of Sport Robin Wright.

“As a designated Olympic training camp, Riseholme has a superb human performance centre that is geared to support elite athletes. It is the only one like it in the county and it will also help us to attract really good students.”

Although Riseholme is well known for its equine sports training, virtually any sport can be catered for. As well as the latest high-tech sports facilities, the camp includes performance analysis systems, biomechanics technology and highly trained coaches, psychologists and nutritionists.

Robin added: “We are working hard with local sports clubs and schools, giving their young athletes the chance to become the elite sports people of the future.”
